If you are here from WeChall, just try some of the challs. They all are worth a look, but some are just utter crap. If you spend more than 30 minutes on a challenge, pick another maybe. |

This site used to be a good learning ground for new players. Now with everything broken, I'm not really sure. Maybe only elites stay |

Lot's of "crapchall"? Every chall is a crapchall until solving it? Vote now Interesting take, Gizmore. I still have challenges from as far back as 2006 that I revisit from time to time. It would be easy to dismiss them as “crap” (especially when I feel like I should be able to solve anything), but in reality there’s almost always something valuable to extract, even from imperfect or poorly designed challenges. To me, it comes down to intent. If someone is focused purely on points or status, then whether a challenge is “crap” is largely irrelevant. But if the goal is to genuinely improve at the craft (reverse engineering in the broad sense), then every challenge becomes an opportunity: learn, research, iterate, and enjoy the process. Over time, even the “bad” challenges tend to teach the most. |
