Why don't you name the challenge pages index.php. Then you never have to worry about the security of the directory, and it will give us a hint if the name of the challenge matters.

I don't know why, but we started to call the challenge-pages like we do already when we began with the site. And I'm not in the mood to rename >105 files...
Actually we put empty index.html files in all directories to disable directory-listing.
