Bright-shadows - TBS has been a wonderful journey. To the creators, thank you for building challenges that were thoughtful, clever, frustrating in the best possible way, and genuinely fun. They encouraged curiosity, persistence, research, creativity, and that particular kind of stubbornness that every good challenge solver knows well.

Thank you also to the many people I met along the way. Some of the best parts of this journey were not only the challenges themselves, but the conversations around them: running ideas past others, sharing approaches, getting stuck together, and learning from people with sharp minds and generous spirits. There are some truly wonderful people in the challenge solving world, and I am grateful to have crossed paths with so many of them.

To the admins, thank you for creating, maintaining, protecting, and keeping this site online for so long. A place like this does not survive for two decades by accident. It takes care, effort, time, and belief in the community. Your work gave many of us a place to learn, test ourselves, and grow.

I have now solved all the challenges that can be solved without manual checking, so this marks the end of this part of my journey. It is strange to write that, because Bright-shadows.net has been part of my life for such a long time. I started out in the 1990's with ORC and Fravia, learning how to research, how to think differently, how to ask better questions, and how to keep pushing when the answer was not obvious. Those early lessons stayed with me.

Today, I am a senior executive in cybersecurity, and I can say with complete sincerity that this site helped mould who I am. The mindset it encouraged, the discipline it demanded, and the curiosity it rewarded all became part of the foundation of my career.

I hope the next generations continue along this path: learning, researching, questioning, experimenting, and helping each other grow. The tools will change, the challenges will change, and the internet itself will keep changing, but that spirit of discovery is worth carrying forward.

Thank you, Bright-shadows, for the wonderful journey.:drink3:

Congratulations, dalfor.

This place is special to me too. Not just a site - more like somewhere you return to. I learned more here than I expected, and not just about challenges.

22 years ago when I first registered, I never thought I’d still be coming back, let alone solving things I once believed were impossible. Yet here we are.

Hope you still drop by from time to time, leave a hint or two for those still stuck. And come hang out with us on the WeChall IRC channel as well :fight:

Congratulations dalfor.

This indeed was (or is) a magical place. Though I don't have the mindset anymore to dive this deep into challenges, I have great memories of it. And I still find myself checking out what's going on here from time to time. I'll probably continue to do so until the DNS won't resolve anymore :D

P.S. The IRC channel is still alive? Awesome

20+ years.. crazy. The nice thing is that though I felt like an ol fart back then (mid 20's) we're all old farts now :)

Edit to add: If you're in Perth I'd have a beer with you heh.
